Serialized Fiction

These days, serialized fiction has gone mainstream to the online community. There are many authors using serialized fiction to help promote an up-and-coming book like JK Rowling’s The Ickabog. There are other mainstream authors like Arthur C. Clarke, Max Webster, and others who are serializing fiction through blogs. Often these blogs involve cover artwork and elaborate podcasts, much like an audiobook.

I think it’s time to see if I can make a few bucks selling serialized fiction but really, how much are people willing to pay? Let’s say I update the blog daily, 5-7 days a week with a quality post about a page to a page and a half in length… That’s about an hour of work for me per blog so I was thinking $5/month or $25/year per blog. Now if you like all fourteen of the blogs I think I can even make a sweeter deal of maybe $25/month or $50/year.
