Migration

Whisper of a goose’s wing;
Silence is astounding;
Wings of might to take flight.

Ease to get airborne seems to be;
Just a hop; Just a step;
Now run and flap to be free.

In but a couple meters you are flying away;
World is open;
Fly every which way.

Fall brings your departure as instincts whisk you away.
Surly the good spring weather will bring you back.
Stay for the summer and nest near to me.

Honking calls fill the air as Vees form in flight.
Migration calls you south;
Bed for the night.
Morning brings a time for feed;
Now fly again.

Call from the sentry;
All give flight;
Scattered clouds everywhere;
Soon gone from sight.
